Master CIMES

The CIMES Master is a two-year course of study of the Master of Science, Technology and Health at Sorbonne University, which aims to train students in the design and development of innovative sensors for research and industry.
The second year (M2) is jointly organised by ESPCI and Sorbonne University, in partnership with the Paris Observatory. This very general, multidisciplinary training is aimed at students whose previous career was in physics or electronics, as well as engineering students.
The ultimate goal of the training is to master a complete measurement chain. To this end, it offers a broad and diverse training in sensor physics, signal acquisition and processing, and data analysis. It covers applications for industry, space and the environment, miniaturisation and virtualisation techniques, as well as modern methods of non-destructive testing and imaging in complex environments. This training ends with a 6-month internship in an industrial setting or in a research laboratory.
We welcome students enrolled in the engineering schools of ECE Paris and ENSEA with a double degree.

Registration with ESPCI Paris allows you to obtain a student card, access to the school library, the REZ and the various services of ESPCI Paris and the other components of the PSL University. To obtain the national Master’s degree, enrolment at Sorbonne University is required in addition to your enrolment at ESPCI.
YOUR DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT.
The intranet is a space accessible to all ESPCI users. It is essential to consult it regularly: it centralizes all the information related to your training, regulations, internships, student life, as well as all the services useful in everyday life.
OASIS is the schooling management platform. You will find your administrative data, as well as the follow-up of your academic career.
Moodle is the school’s educational tool. Your courses will be submitted there (in PDF or video), depending on the formats chosen by your teachers.

YOUR PEDAGOGICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE ENVIRONMENT
You are supervised by two administrative departments:
The ESPCI Studies Department, your main contact for all your administrative procedures (conventions, certificates, diplomas) as well as for your digital environment.
The Sorbonne University School Service, responsible for managing your grades and report cards.
Your main educational contacts will be your master’s degree manager at ESPCI and Sorbonne University, who will be introduced to you at the start of the school year. You can ask them for any questions or difficulties relating to your journey at ESPCI.
The team responsible for the scientific and educational organisation of the CIMES Master’s programme is composed of professors, researchers and teacher-researchers from ESPCI Paris and Sorbonne University, as well as speakers from other engineering schools and the industrial world .
During the summer
